Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions set out the arrangements for tuition, fees, payments, holidays, cancellations and notice periods at Pink Academy. They are provided to ensure that parents/guardians understand the arrangements applying to their child’s tuition before enrolment.

1. Tuition Fees and Monthly Payments

Tuition fees are calculated for the full academic year and are payable by 12 equal monthly instalments by standing order.

The monthly instalment is a payment towards the pupil’s annual tuition fees and is not a charge solely for the number of lessons taking place during that particular calendar month.

The annual tuition fee is calculated based on the Academy’s planned teaching programme and takes into account scheduled Academy holidays and closures, including the summer break. Monthly payments therefore remain due during scheduled Academy holiday periods, even where no regular classes take place during that particular month.

The monthly payment amount remains the same throughout the year unless Pink Academy notifies the parent/guardian of a change to the applicable fees.

Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that the standing order is set up correctly and that all payments are made on time.

2. Scheduled Academy Holidays and Closures

Pink Academy operates according to its published teaching calendar, which includes scheduled holiday periods and Academy closures.

Scheduled holidays and closures, including the summer break, are taken into account when calculating the annual tuition fees. They do not entitle parents/guardians to withhold, suspend, reduce or request a refund of the monthly instalment.

The Academy’s holiday calendar will be communicated to parents/guardians as appropriate.

3. Pupil Absence

Monthly tuition fees remain payable regardless of whether a pupil attends their scheduled lessons.

Fees will not normally be refunded, reduced or suspended due to individual pupil absence, including absence because of:

  • illness or injury;
  • holidays;
  • auditions;
  • festivals;
  • competitions;
  • professional or amateur engagements; or
  • any other personal commitments.

Parents/guardians should notify the Academy of absences in accordance with the Academy’s usual communication procedures.

4. Cancellation of Individual Lessons or Classes

Where Pink Academy is required to cancel a class at short notice due to circumstances outside the Academy’s reasonable control, including severe weather, unforeseen circumstances or other emergencies, the monthly tuition fee will not automatically be reduced or refunded.

This is because the Academy may continue to incur costs relating to teachers, studio hire, administration and other operational expenses.

Where Pink Academy cancels a lesson or class for reasons within its control and is unable to provide an appropriate replacement, the Academy will determine, acting reasonably, whether a replacement class, credit or other appropriate arrangement should be offered.

5. Cancellation or Reduction of Tuition by the Parent/Guardian

A minimum of one calendar month’s written notice is required if a pupil wishes to:

  • leave Pink Academy;
  • permanently reduce their tuition; or
  • discontinue any particular programme, class or lesson.

Notice must be provided in writing to Pink Academy.

The notice period begins on the date written notice is received by Pink Academy.

All fees remain payable throughout the notice period, whether or not the pupil attends their scheduled lessons during that period.

The pupil’s place and tuition will remain subject to the Academy’s normal terms and conditions until the notice period has ended.

6. Standing Orders Following Cancellation

Parents/guardians are responsible for cancelling their standing order directly with their bank once the notice period has been completed and all fees due have been paid.

Parents/guardians should not cancel or suspend their standing order before the end of the applicable notice period unless this has been agreed in writing with Pink Academy.

If a standing order is cancelled prematurely and a payment due during the notice period is missed, the outstanding amount remains payable.

7. Outstanding or Late Payments

Fees must be paid by the agreed monthly payment date.

Where a payment is missed or an amount becomes overdue, Pink Academy may contact the parent/guardian requesting payment of the outstanding balance.

Parents/guardians are expected to contact Pink Academy promptly if there is a genuine problem with a payment so that the matter can be discussed.

Where an outstanding payment remains unpaid, Pink Academy reserves the right, subject to its other contractual obligations and applicable law, to take reasonable steps to recover the outstanding fees.

Persistent non-payment may also affect the pupil’s continued participation in Academy tuition.

8. No Automatic Suspension of Fees

A parent/guardian may not suspend, reduce or withhold monthly tuition payments because:

  • the Academy is closed for a scheduled holiday;
  • the pupil is absent;
  • the pupil chooses not to attend;
  • the pupil is unable to attend for personal reasons; or
  • the parent/guardian believes that fewer lessons have taken place in a particular calendar month.

Any agreed variation to the payment arrangement must be confirmed by Pink Academy in writing.

9. Changes to Fees

Pink Academy reserves the right to review its tuition fees from time to time.

Where fees are changed, parents/guardians will be given reasonable advance notice of the new fees and the date from which they will apply.

10. Agreement and Continuation of Tuition

By enrolling a pupil with Pink Academy, the parent/guardian confirms that they have read and understood these terms and agree to comply with the payment, cancellation and notice requirements set out above.

The agreement will continue until it is terminated in accordance with the cancellation and notice provisions above.
